Police Blotter Feb. 8: Thief Breaks Lock off Locker at YMCA; Woman's Watch Stolen as She Showered

A recap of crimes committed in Evanston.

The following items are taken from the Evanston Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

Theft

A combination lock was taken off a locker at the YMCA between 4 p.m. and 5:39 p.m. on Feb. 6 on the 1000 block of Grove Street. A Chase debit card, a Citibank credit card, $20 cash and a CTA transit card were stolen. 

A gold ladies' Gruen watch was stolen on the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue while she took a shower between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 7. Police said she had left it on a table in her apartment and it was gone when she returned to it.

Burglary

A burglar was heard on the back porch of a home on the 1600 block of Wesley Avenue. The man bent a screen, but did not get in the house, before taking off in the snow at 6:40 a.m. on Feb. 7.

 

Domestic Battery

A 50-year-old Evanston man was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 10:50 a.m. on Feb. 5 on the 1700 block of Emerson Street. His court date is set for Feb. 9.

A 32-year-old Evanston man was arrested and charged with domestic battery on Feb. 1 at the Evanston Police Station. His court date is set for March 9.

 

Arrest Warrant

Davis J. Robinson, 30, of Evanston was arrested on a warrant at 8 a.m. on Feb. 7 on the 1300 block of Davis Street.
