A man tried to buy marijuana off a group of teenagers and gave them $10 for the drug between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. on July 17 at the corner of Grey Avenue and Church Street. They started to walk away, then came back and told them they needed his phone to place the order, and he gave them the phone. They then told him he needed to give them more money or the deal wouldn't go through. He refused and took off on his bicycle, but the chain fell off. The teenagers then took his wallet and stole his bike. The victim then came back the following day to the area and saw one of the boys. He demanded his bike back and it was returned, but he lost the wallet and the black AT&T cell phone. The victim told police he was heavily intoxicated at the time and could identify the offenders only as black teenagers about 16 years of age. He never took possession of any marijuana in the deal.

A group of men approached a teenage boy at the corner of Grey Avenue and Church Street and offered to sell him pot at 12:12 a.m. on July 18. When he said he wasn't interested, they accosted him and moved to steal his iPod music player. They tried to make him trip, but failed and he was able to run home with nothing stolen. The suspects were described as black men; one was 6-foot-2 with a heavy build and a light complexion; a second one was 5-foot-9 with a medium build and a medium complexion; no further description was given for the third man. The victim said he thought he knew the first two men.
