Police Blotter June 16: Honda Civic Stolen; Bar Fight at Buffalo Wild Wings

A recap of crimes committed in Evanston.

The following items are taken from the Evanston Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

Battery

A man allegedly punched another patron in the face at the Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar on the 1700 block of Maple Avenue at 11:35 p.m. on June 15. The victim tried to grab the man, but he fled on foot. Jones L. Douglas, 37, of Chicago was arrested at 11:40 p.m. and charged with battery as he entered the Davis El station on the 1600 block of Benson Avenue. His court date is set for July 5.

A man allegedly hit a police officer during a domestic dispute at an apartment on the 100 block of Dewey Avenue at 9:27 a.m. on June 15. Quentin Oliver, 26, of Evanston was arrested and charged with battery and resisting arrest at 9:35 a.m. His court date is set for July 29.

A man pulled a knife on the street at 10:04 p.m. on June 13 on the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue. The suspect is a 5-foot-2 black male about 150 pounds.

 

Burglary

A burglar kicked in a door to a garage and stole a Trek bicycle between 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. on June 15 on the 1800 block of Leland Avenue.

 

Theft

A tan 2000 Honda Civic LX sedan was stolen between 11:30 p.m. on June 14 and 6:45 a.m. on June 15 off the street on the 500 block of Michigan Avenue. The car has tinted windows and a rear spoiler.

Hanging flower baskets were stolen from a home on the 1800 block of Leland Avenue between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. on June 15.

Cash was stolen from an office on the 700 block of Brummel Street between 12:01 a.m. on June 10 and 11:59 p.m. on June 13. The thief had a key to the building.

A locked bike was stolen off the Evanston Township High School grounds between 8:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. on June 8. The suspect is a black male about 6-foot-1 and 230 pounds.

A locked bicycle was stolen off a rack on the 1800 block of Central Street between 8:50 a.m. and 5:56 p.m. on June 14

A man stole an unlocked Mongoose bicycle at 3 p.m. on June 14 from a park on the 700 block of Reba Place.

 

Vandalism

Someone slashed all four tires of a 1994 Eagle between 8 p.m. on June 14 and 5 a.m. on June 15 on the 2200 block of Cleveland Street.

 

Protection Order Violation

A 17-year-old Evanston resident was arrested and charged with violating an order of protection at 5:05 p.m. on June 11 on the 9400 block of McCormick Boulevard in Skokie.

 

Marijuana Possession

David A. Carmichael, 18, of Evanston and Elia H. Golden, 18, of Evanston were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana at 12:54 a.m. on June 16 on the 2500 block of Harrison Street. Their court date is set for July 19.

A 16-year-old Evanston resident was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana at Evanston Township High School at 12:20 p.m. on June 8 on the 1600 block of Dodge Avenue.

 

Minor in Possession

Akeem M. Brackenridge, 19, of Skokie and Dametre G. Irby, 19, of Evanston were arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol at 7:27 p.m. on June 14 on the 900 block of Dobson Street. Their court date is set for July 5.

 

Driving without a License

Ignacio Arias-Escobar, 35, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 8:51 p.m. on June 13 on the 100 block of Ridge Avenue. His court date is set for July 8.

Daniel Jimenez, 32, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 9:42 a.m. on June 14 at the intersection of North Sheridan Road and West Howard Street in Chicago. His court date is set for July 12.
