Police Blotter March 10: Teen Charged after Fight on Dodge, iPhone Stolen at Athletic Club

A recap of crimes committed in Evanston.

The following items are taken from the Evanston Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

Disorderly Conduct

Police were called to break up a fight in the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue at about 4 p.m. on Wednesday. As they were breaking up the fight, Forress A. Rowe, 18, of Evanston began to argue with police and refused to leave. When he continued to do so, police arrested Rowe and charged him with disorderly conduct and failure to disperse at 4:26 p.m. His court date is set for March 23.

Theft

An Apple iPhone with a black case was stolen after it had been left unattended at the Evanston Athletic Club in the 1700 block of Benson Avenue between 6:30 p.m. and 6:35 p.m. on Wednesday. The victim said he had been using a cardiovascular machine on the second floor Wednesday evening when he sat the phone down to get a towel. When he came back to the machine, the phone was gone.
