Police Blotter March 16: Alleged Drunk Caught Speeding in Porsche; Man Nabbed with Weed in South Evanston

Driving under the Influence

A man was stopped after traveling at a high rate of speed in his white 2003 Porsche convertible and charged with driving under the influence Tuesday night. Police said Anthony S. David, 52, of Evanston had pulled out of Noyes Street and was speeding north on Green Bay Road. He did not stop right away but he pulled over at the 1900 block of Harrison Street. He refused to take field sobriety tests, but police said they smelled alcohol on him and his eyes were bloodshot. David was arrested at 9:18 p.m. on March 15. His court date is set for March 28.

Marijuana Possession
A man was allegedly caught with six grams of marijuana on Tuesday evening on the 300 block of Sherman Street. Police said they noticed two men in dark coats standing outside a house at the corner of Mulford Street and Custer Avenue acting suspiciously. They confronted the men, who ran away on foot. Police said one of them, Jemehl Davenport, 23, of Evanston tossed a bag containing eight individually wrapped bags of pot into a lawn before he was detained by police. The marijuana had a street value of $120. Davenport was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana at 5:15 p.m. on March 15. His court date is set for April 26.
Domestic Battery
A 16-year-old Evanston resident was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 5:57 p.m. on March 15 on the 100 block of Callan Avenue.
Driving without a License
Juan Gonzalez-Rodriguez, 40, of Evanston was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 12:30 p.m. on March 15 on the 2300 block of Lawndale Avenue. His court date is set for April 14.
Teresita D. Zuniga, 19, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 2:30 p.m. on March 15 on the 1100 block of Howard Street. Her court date is set for April 21.
Graffiti
Someone painted graffiti on a slide at Cartright Park on the 3300 block of Grant Street.
Black writing was found on a sign on private property on March 15 on the 2000 block of Brown Avenue.
