Police Blotter May 11: Man Handed Unlawful Weapons Charge; Crab Legs Stolen from Dominick's

A recap of crimes committed in Evanston.

The following items are taken from the Evanston Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

Unlawful Use of Weapon

Antwaan C. Pickett, 22, of Chicago was arrested and charged with an unlawful use of a weapon at 6:40 p.m. on May 8 on the 1300 block of Dodge Avenue. His court date is set for May 18.

 

Theft

A man allegedly stole crab legs and seafood from the Dominick's grocery on the 1900 block of Dempster Street at 5:27 p.m. on May 7. Bruce P. Godwin, 39, of Evanston was arrested and charged with retail theft. His court date is set for May 18.

A man stole a VCR/DVD player, three 12-inch knives and a wine cooler from an apartment on the 1800 block of Monroe Street between 8 p.m. on May 3 and 2 p.m. on May 5.

Cash and a black leather wallet were stolen from a business on the 800 block of Chicago Avenue between 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. on May 10.

An Apple iPod music player was stolen from a book bag at the Nichols Middle School on the 800 block of Greenleaf Street between noon and 2:45 p.m. on May 3.

Credit cards were taken out of a locker at an athletic club on the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue between 6:30 p.m. and 7:07 p.m. on May 10.

A blue and silver Trek bicycle was stolen from a bike rack on the 600 block of Main Street at 4 p.m. on May 10.

 

Battery

A man hit someone at the Evanston Hospital on the 2600 block of Ridge Avenue at 12:20 a.m. on April 28. The suspect is a white man about 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds.

 

Burglary

An unlocked 1995 Toyota was broken into between 8:30 p.m. and 11:09 p.m. on May 9 on the 1000 block of Dewey Avenue.

 

Vandalism

Someone broke out the rear window of a 2007 Mercury while it was parked in the driveway of a house on the 2700 block of Central Park Avenue between 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. on May 10.

 

Domestic Battery

A 20-year-old Evanston man was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 5:22 p.m. on May 6 on the 700 block of Mulford Street. His court date is set for May 11.

 

Trespassing

A woman was allegedly trespassing at McDonald's on the 1100 block of Howard Street at 10:22 p.m. on May 9. Lisa F. Wilkalis, 48, of Chicago was arrested and charged with trespassing. Her court date is set for June 26.

 

Failure to Disperse

Jacob S. Blake, 20, of Evanston and Steven T. Little, 19, of Skokie were arrested and charged with failing to disperse upon a police order at 8:41 p.m. on May 10 on the 600 block of Howard Street. Their court date is set for June 15.

 

Underage Consumption

Nicholas W. May, 18, of Evanston was arrested and charged with underage consumption at 12:03 a.m. on May 4 on the 1200 block of Asbury Avenue. His court date is set for May 4.

Terrence G. Richardson, 20, of Evanston was arrested and charged with underage consumption at 11:16 p.m. on May 10 on the 100 block of Ashland Avenue. His court date is set for June 27.

 

Marijuana Possession

Marisol Eugenio, 23, of Chicago was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana at 11:16 p.m. on May 10 on the 100 block of Ashland Avenue. His court date is set for June 27.

 

Arrest Warrant

Travis L. Byrd, 32, of Chicago was arrested on a pair of warrants at 8:45 p.m. on May 2 on the corner of Brummel Street and Callan Avenue. His court date is set for June 1.

 

Driving without a License

Tomas Balderas, 44, of Wilmette was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 7:40 a.m. on May 10 on the 3300 block of Simpson Street. His court date is set for June 20.

Dwight Evans, 55, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 10:16 p.m. on May 10 on the 400 block of Sheridan Road. His court date is set for June 20.

Marino G. Martinez, 30, fo Evanston was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 3:45 p.m. on May 9 on the 1100 block of Dodge Avenue. His court date is set for June 8.

Michael Rivers, 32, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 12:22 a.m. on May 9 on the 1700 block of Ridge Avenue. His court date is set for May 24.

 

Shots Fired

A gun shot was heard at 8:18 p.m. on May 10 on the 100 block of Custer Avenue.

Five gun shots were heard at 9:34 p.m. on May 3 at the corner of Foster Street and Brown Avenue.
