Police Blotter May 19: Burglars Take Saw and Computer; Man Attacks Landscaping Truck

A recap of crimes committed in Evanston.

The following items are taken from the Evanston Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

Burglary

A burglar used a pry tool to break in through the door of a garage on the 1300 block of Darrow Street between 9 a.m. on May 17 and 11:15 p.m. on May 18. The burglar took a green Toro electric saw.

A burglar stole a silver Dell laptop computer from a 2007 Honda through an open window at 3 p.m. on May 12 on the 900 block of Central Street.

Vandalism

A man pounded on the hood of a 2000 Ford F-150, making visible dents in the truck at 10:28 a.m. on May 18. Police said the man was angry that a landscaping company was using a leaf blower so he attacked the truck. The suspect is a white man about 5-foot-8 and 180 pounds.

A vandal sprayed white paint on the bumper of a 1997 Nissan between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. on May 17 on the 2000 block of Lake Street. The suspect is a Hispanic woman about 5-foot-3 and 180 pounds.

 

Arrest Warrant

Tyrone P. Brown, 72, of Chicago was arrested on a warrant at 6:50 p.m. on May 17 on the 2200 block of Oakton Street.

 

Domestic Battery

A 37-year-old Skokie man was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic battery at 5:28 p.m. on May 17 on the 2200 block of Oakton Street. His court date is set for May 25.

 

Marijuana Possession

D'Artagnan Clark-Dennis, 20, of Evanston was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana at 8:50 p.m. on May 18 on the 400 block of Callan Avenue. His court date is set for July 5.

Tyrone E. Gibbs, 19, of Evanston was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana at 10:56 p.m. on May 17 on the 2200 block of Emerson Street. His court date is set for June 20.

William D. Madden, 20, of Skokie was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana at 12:10 a.m. on May 19 on the 2300 block of Lawndale. His court date is set for June 29.

Jason D. Street, 32, of Chicago was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana at 7:40 p.m. on May 17 on the 1200 block of Darrow Avenue. His court date is set for June 27.

 

Driving without a License

Sotelo Amparo, 24, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 5:15 a.m. on May 18 on the 100 block of Ridge Avenue. His court date is set for June 8.

Jaime J. Gamboa, 21, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 8:44 a.m. on May 17 on the 200 block of Dodge Avenue. His court date is set for June 20.

Jose P. Hernandez, 20, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 4:31 p.m. on May 17 on the 800 block of Dodge Avenue. His court date is set for June 8.

Christhian D. Salinas, 21, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 12:40 a.m. on May 19 at the intersection of Dempster Street and McCormick Boulevard. His court date is set for June 6.
