Police Blotter Nov. 2: Man Robbed at Gunpoint in Northwest Evanston

The following arrest information was supplied by the Evanston police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following items are taken from the Evanston Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Robbery

A man was walking home at the corner of Grant Street and Praire Avenue Monday night when he was robbed at gunpoint. He told police that he was confronted by three black men in their 20s dressed in all dark clothing at 11:08 p.m. One of the men flashed a silver pistol and they demanded his possessions. He first handed them his wallet, but it was empty of cash, so they handed it back to him. They then took his Virgin cell phone and ran east towards the North Shore Channel. The victim was unharmed.

Trespassing

A former Evanston Township High School student was arrested after police said he came onto school property uninvited and caused a disturbance with a current student. Maurice M. McKenzie Jr., 19, of Evanston was charged with criminal trespass to property on the 1600 block of Dempster Street. His court date is set for Dec. 2.

Burglary

A 2011 Acura was reported burglarized at 11 p.m. on Tuesday in an alley of the 500 block of Hinman Avenue. A passenger window had been damaged and cash was missing from the car.

Vandalism

The rear passenger window of a 2003 Chevrolet was found damaged at 6:10 p.m. on Tuesday on the 2200 block of Dewey Avenue.

Someone splashed white paint on a 2008 Honda between 9 p.m. on Monday and 7:40 a.m. on Tuesday on the 1200 block of Hull Terrace.

 

Driving without a License

Heriberto Pacheco, 22, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 2:29 a.m. on Tuesday on the 1900 block of Dempster Street. His court date is set for Nov. 16.

Rodney Perry, 43, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 10:34 a.m. on Tuesday on the 800 block of Howard Street. His court date is set for Nov. 21.
