Police Blotter Nov. 21: Radiator Stolen Outside House; Arrest Made in Alcohol Theft

The following arrest information was supplied by the Evanston Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following items are taken from the Evanston Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Theft

A man allegedly stole liquor from the Jewel-Osco grocery store on the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue at 11:10 a.m. on Sunday. Michael S. Richmond, 44, of Evanston was arrested and charged with retail theft at 11:20 a.m. His court date is set for Dec. 1.

A white iron radiator and a small gray push cart were stolen from a gangway alongside a house on the 1100 block of Foster Street between 2 p.m. on Nov. 12 and 8 p.m. on Nov. 15. The push cart had a value of $25 and was apparently stolen to load away the radiator for scrap.

 

Sexual Assault

Two men are suspected in a criminal sexual assault involving a juvenile acquaintance.The charges were reported at the Evanston Police Station at 10:22 p.m. on Thursday. The suspects are black men about 6-foot tall; one weighs 170 pounds and the other 200 pounds.

 

Burglary

A burglar broke into an unlocked 2008 Chrysler and stole cash and a cell phone in the parking lot of Food 4 Less on the 2400 block of Main Street between 1:32 p.m. and 1:46 p.m. on Friday.

 

Trespassing

A man allegedly refused to leave his female friend's car and then drove off with her in it at 8 a.m. on Sunday. Police said Sanjay J. Ellis, 22, of Evanston later drove the car into an accident and then ran away from the scene on the 1400 Monroe Street, ditching the woman and the car. Police found Ellis on the 700 block of Austin Street and placed him under arrest, charging him with criminal trespass to vehicle. His court date is set for Dec. 21.

 

Domestic Battery

An 18-year-old Evanston woman was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 1 p.m. on Sunday on the 2100 block of Dewey Avenue. Her court date is set for Nov. 30.

 

Arrest Warrant

Paul A. Abbott, 47, of Chicago was arrested on a warrant at 5:36 p.m. on Nov. 16 on the corner of Simpson Street and Central Park Avenue.

Herman Poster, 25, of Evanston was arrested on a warrant at 12:45 p.m. on Sunday on the 700 block of Brummel Street.

Marijuana Possession

Jason B. Berry, 30, of Evanston was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana at 5:14 p.m. on Monday on the 2400 block of Main Street. His court date is set for Dec. 16.

 

Driving without a License

Oscar Roque, 31, of Milwaukee, Wis., was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 2:58 p.m. on Sunday on the corner of Oakton Street and Dodge Avenue. His court date is set for Dec. 29.

La Jon M. Survillion, 27, of Oakland, Calif., was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 4:30 a.m. on Monday on the 1100 block of Maple Avenue. His court date is set for Dec. 21.
