Police Blotter Nov. 23: Man Arrested Tossing Chair Across ER; Graffiti Artist Busted on Maple

The following items are taken from the Evanston Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Disorderly Conduct
An Evanston man was charged with disorderly conduct after police said he became belligerent in the emergency room of the Evanston North Shore Hospital, yelled at a nurse and threw a chair across the room. Travis J. Johnson, 27, of Evanston was arrested at 2:02 a.m. on Tuesday on the 2600 block of Ridge Avenue. His court date is set for Dec. 7.

Battery
A female student reportedly bumped another student in the hallway at Evanston Township High School at 2:03 p.m. on Nov. 16. The suspect is a black female about 5-foot-6 and 145 pounds.

Burglary
John B. Lathon, 61, of Chicago was arrested and charged with a 2010 residential burglary at 5:45 p.m. on Nov. 17 on the 4700 block of North Sheridan Road. His court date is set for Dec. 1.
A burglar knocked out panels on an overhead garage door and stole two bicycles and a red Toro lawnmower between 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 14 and 6 p.m. on Nov. 15 on the 2000 block of Dobson Street.
A burglar broke into an unlocked 2008 Honda and stole a purse and cash between 5:10 p.m. and 6:35 p.m. on the 1600 block of Colfax Street.
A burglar broke into an unlocked 2002 Ford Explorer and stole a Magellan GPS device, a Garmin GPS device and a box of electrical outlets between 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 17 and 8:25 a.m. on Friday on the 1100 block of Mulford Street.
A burglar broke into an unlocked 1998 Chrysler and stole a 5-inch screen Garmin GPS device between 12:01 a.m. and 8:40 a.m. on Friday on the 1100 block of Harvard Terrace.
A man reportedly tried to break into a business on the 500 block of Main Street at 11:53 p.m. on Monday. The suspect is a black man about 5-foot-11 and 144 pounds.
Vandalism
A man allegedly sprayed the Albany Care mental health center with graffiti at 12:29 a.m. on Tuesday on the 900 block of Maple Avenue. James H. Bork, 49, of Evanston was arrested and charged with criminal defacement at 12:32 a.m. His court date is set for Dec. 27.
Graffiti was found sprayed on the street at 11:49 a.m. on Tuesday on the corner of Oakton Street and Dodge Avenue.
Driving without a License
Ethan C. Wall, 18, of Evanston was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 5:45 p.m. on Monday on the 200 block of Ridge Avenue. His court date is set for Jan. 11.
