Police Blotter Nov. 7: Man Charged with Assaulting Cop in Home

The following arrest information was supplied by the Evanston police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Robbery

A man attacked someone and stole an Apple iPhone 4 on a house porch on the 2000 block of Ridge Avenue at 1:05 a.m. on Sunday. The suspect is a black man about 5-foot-10 and 150 pounds.

A man allegedly assaulted a police officer at 1:21 a.m. on Saturday at a house on the 700 block of Central Street. Michael P. Coutre, 43, of Evanston was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. His court date is set for Dec. 21.

A man hit someone in the head on the 1700 block of Grey Avenue at 10:05 p.m. on Friday. The suspect is a black man about 5-foot-10 and 159 pounds.

A man reportedly assaulted someone at Food 4 Less at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday on the 2400 Main Street. The suspect is a black man about 5-foot-5 and 200 pounds.

Burglary

Burglars broke into an apartment on the 2000 block of Ridge Avenue between 7 p.m. on Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday through an unlocked window and stole an Apple laptop computer, a Microsoft X-Box gaming system, video games, an Apple iPod with IT headphones, a backpack, video accessory, an external hard drive and a projector adapter.

Someone broke into a 2001 Lexus parked in a garage on the 3300 block of Hartzell Street between 8 p.m. on Nov. 1 and 5 a.m. on Thursday. The burglar stole a Garmin GPS device, a Shopvac, a Honda lawn mower, a trimmer, a weed eater and a Toro Snow Blower.

Someone smashed the driver-side window of a 1998 Mitsubishi between 1 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Saturday on the 1400 block of Elinor Place and stole a TomTom GPS device.

 

Theft

A man allegedly stole personal items from the Jewel-Osco grocery on the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue at 5:03 p.m. on Friday. Sean R. Sims, 45, of Chicago was arrested and charged with retail theft. His court date is set for Dec. 21.

A man reportedly stole alcohol from the Dominick's grocery on the 1900 block of Dempster Street at 12:03 a.m. on Saturday. The suspect is a black man about 5-foot-9 and 210 pounds.

A remote control helicopter was stolen from the mail toom of an apartment on the 2200 block of Emerson Street between 8:30 p.m. on Friday and 6 a.m. on Saturday.

A man reportedly stole cash off a table at an apartment on the 600 block of Mulford Street at 9 p.m. on Friday.

Two males stole a 20-inch BMX bicycle at 1:42 p.m. on Saturday on the 2000 block of Darrow Avenue.

A cell phone was stolen off a table at a restaurant on the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue at 4 p.m. on Sunday.

A license plate was reported stolen off a 2004 Ford at noon on Saturday on the Dempster Street and Fowler Avenue.

A 12-year-old Evanston resident was arrested and charged with retail theft at 7:15 p.m. on Friday at Dominick's on the 1900 block of Dempster Street.

Disobedience to Police

Christal L. A. Henry, 24, of Evanston and Christopher A. Jones, 25, of Skokie were arrested and charged with disobedience to police at 4:14 a.m. on Friday on the 100 block of Custer Avenue. Their court date is set for Dec. 16.

Vandalism

Someone slashed all four tires of a 1994 Chevrolet between 11 p.m. on Thursday and 1 p.m. on Friday on the 2100 block of Cleveland Street.

Three males reportedly sprayed red paint on a restaurant at 5:15 p.m. on Friday on the 900 block of Davis Street.

A male reportedly sprayed black paint on the hood of the 2008 Saturn at 5:20 p.m. on Friday on the 1200 block of Forest Avenue. The suspect is a white male about 5-foot-9.

A woman reportedly damaged the tires of a 2010 Dodge at 9:21 p.m. on Saturday on the 100 block of Custer Avenue.

Someone scratched a 1999 Lexus on the right side of the car between 8 p.m. on Thursday and 4:15 p.m. on Friday on the 2100 block of Ashland Avenue.

Orange paint was sprayed on a garage on the 1200 block of Pitner Avenue between 9 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday.

Graffiti was sprayed in a lawn on the 1400 block of Dempster Street between 12:58 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

Black spray paint was marked on the sidewalk on the 1200 block of Greenleaf Street at 9:09 a.m. on Sunday.

Something was damaged in an alley of the 2500 block of Lawndale Avenue between 6:20 p.m. and 6:24 p.m. on Saturday.

Something was reported damaged in an alley of the 3000 block of Central Street at 6:40 p.m. on Saturday.

Domestic Battery

A 19-year-old Evanston man was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 1:35 a.m. on Friday on the 1800 block of Laurel Avenue. His court date is set for Nov. 9.

Driving under the Influence

Charles B. Owens, 30, of Skokie was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 3:37 a.m. on Sunday on the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue. His court date is set for Nov. 23.

Jonathan A. Peppers, 23, of Skokie was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 3:41 a.m. on Sunday on the 1300 block of Pitner Avenue. His court date is set for Dec. 16.

Drug Paraphernalia

Miguel A. Santos, 27, of Melrose Park was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at 9:37 p.m. on Sunday on the 700 block of Main Street. His court date is set for Nov. 23.

Driving without a License

Boney L. Bell, 59, of Evanston was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 7:11 p.m. on Thursday on the corner of Greenleaf Street and Brown Avenue. His court date is set for Dec. 21.

Augusto Sanchez-Barrera, 64, of Skokie was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 6:37 a.m. on Friday on the corner of Main Street and Maple Avenue. His court date is set for Dec. 7.

 

Man with Gun

A man reportedly was seen with a gun at 10:28 p.m. on Friday on the 1900 block of Dempster Street.
