Police Blotter Oct. 20: Man Charged with Stealing $4,000 in Coats from North Face; Girls Reported Fighting at Middle School.

A 14-year-old and a 13-year-old girl were reported to police for fighting at Haven Middle School on the 2400 block of Prairie Avenue at 12:47 p.m. on Oct. 7.

Theft
Two men allegedly stole $4,000 worth of coats and clothes from North Face on the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Police were walking down Sherman when they saw two black males run out of the North Face store clutching a bunch of coats and clothes. They jumped into a 2004 Chevy Impala, where a woman driver was waiting for them. Police ordered the woman to turn off the car, but she refused. When police reached in the car to take the keys, she swatted them away. The two men then ran out the back of the car towards the Davis El station. Police caught up to one of the men, Raymond V. Jackson, 27, of Chicago, who was arrested at 5:05 p.m. on the 800 block of Davis Street and charged with retail theft. The other man got away, and the woman drove off before police could return to initial scene. The court date for Jackson is set for Nov. 2.
A man reportedly stole a lantern and a shredder from an apartment on the 800 block of Judson Avenue. The suspect is a white man about 6-foot and 200 pounds.
A man stole Absolut vodka from the Jewel-Osco grocery on the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue at 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday. The suspect is a white man about 6-foot-1 and 150 pounds.
A woman stole cash from a purse at a business on the 400 block of Davis Street between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
A man stole food from a restaurant on the 1700 block of Maple Avenue at 6:46 p.m. on Sunday. The suspect is a black man about 6-foot and 200 pounds.
Driving without a License
Froylan Estrada, 22, of Chicago was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 12:54 p.m. on Wednesday on the 1300 block of Chicago Avenue. A court date for Estrada is set for Dec. 7.
