A 15-year-old Skokie resident was arrested and charged with robbery, battery and resisting arrest at 12:35 p.m. on Monday on the corner of Ridge Avenue and Case Street. Police said a female victim called police, telling them that a teenage boy had mugged her, stealing her silver purse and running east on Case. Police canvassed the area and found a boy matching the description walking up the back stairwell of an apartment building on the 1200 block of Elmwood Avenue. The suspect allegedly ignored the police officer's demands and resisted arrest, but he threw the purse out the window. After a struggle, the police detained the boy.
