Police Blotter Oct. 6: Another Bicycle Stolen

A recap of crimes reported in Evanston.

The following items are taken from the Evanston Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Bicycle Theft

Two unknown subjects took a bicycle that was leaning against a planter at 3 p.m. on Oct. 5. The subjects had another bicycle in their possession and left it behind.

Graffiti

Unknown person or persons wrote graffiti on an external wall on the 800 block of Dempster at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 5.

Retail Theft

Bruce Perez Godwin, 39, was arrested on arrested at 2402 Main on Oct. 4 at 12:58 p.m. and charged with retail theft. A court date has been set for Oct. 21 at 1:30 p.m.

Cannabis Possession

Michael Kevin Jefferson, 24, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 2201 Church at 5:18 p.m. on Oct. 5. The trial date is Nov. 15 at 9 a.m.

Criminal Trespass

Michael Francis Oleary, 48, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass at 1919 Dempster at 12:16 a.m. on Oct. 6. The trial date is Nov. 16 at 9 a.m.
