A man grabbed a 13-year-old Evanston girl's scarf at the Main Street El station between 10:50 p.m. and 10:57 p.m. on Thursday on the 800 block of Chicago Avenue. The girl told police that a black man in his 30s with a moustache and a long beard came up to her, saying he worked at a music studio. He told her if she hadn't been on the telephone, he would have asked her out on a date. As the northbound train approached the platform, he came close to her, whispered in her ear that he liked her scarf, and then grabbed her scarf. She was able to break free from him and ran to the last car on the train. She got off the train at Dempster Street and then doubled-back north and south several times to lose him before meeting police at the Main Street station. The suspect had a Navy blue cap and dark blue sweater with blue jeans. He stood about 5-foot-8.

A woman punched a homeless man in the face and stomped on his eyeglasses at the Dempster Street station on the Purple Line at 10 p.m. on Wednesday on the 1300 block of Sherman Place. The man told police he knew the woman, and she was badgering him on the train to give her $20 cash. He refused so she came up to him and slapped and punched him. He hopped off the train at Dempster, but she followed, ripping his glasses off his face and smashing them against the platform. He fled from the station, and reported the incident to police at noon on Thursday. The suspect is a black woman about 5-foot-2 and 170 pounds.
