Police Blotter Sept. 8: Burglars Steal Cash and Electronics from House on South Boulevard

A recap of crimes committed in Evanston.

The following items are taken from the Evanston Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Burglary

Burglars broke into a house on the 700 block of South Boulevard through an unlocked door between 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday and 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday and stole a black 15-inch Acer laptop computer, a black leather wallet with cash, a black Apple iPhone and a black Apple iPad tablet computer.

Battery

A man touched someone as he walked by on the sidewalk of the 2400 block of Church Street at 5:26 p.m. on Wednesday.

 

Mob Action

Four people were arrested and charged with mob action at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday on the 1900 block of Church Street. Police arrested Jeffrey A. Craig II, 20, of Evanston; Deshawn J. Thomas, 19, of Evanston; a 17-year-old Chicago boy and a 15-year-old Evanston resident. The court date for Craig, Thomas and the Chicago boy is set for Sept. 21. Read

 

Domestic Battery

A 19-year-old Evanston woman was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday on the 1500 block of Monroe Street. Her court appearance is set for next Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.

A 19-year-old Evanston man was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 11 a.m. on Tuesday on the corner of Emerson Street and McCormick Boulevard. His court date is set for Sept. 21.

 

Vandalism

A garage on the 1200 block of Lake Street was discovered marked up with black marker at 7 p.m. on Monday.

 

Marijuana Possession

Mylen S. Blake, 33, of West Rogers Park, Chicago, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana at 9:04 a.m. on Wednesday on the 900 block of Dodge Avenue. His court date is set for Oct. 11.

 

Driving without a License

Dorlisa C. Elliot, 34, of Evanston was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license at 12:09 a.m. on Thursday on the 1700 block of Darrow Avenue. Her court date is set for Oct. 13.
