Police Blotter Aug. 28-Sept. 1: Bike, Car, Retail Thefts
A recap of crimes reported in Evanston.
The following items are taken from the Evanston Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
BURGLARY ATTEMPT
Two suspects attempted to enter a residence in the 600 block of Library by cutting the screen of a bedroom window at 6:35 p.m. on Sept. 1. No items were taken from the residence. Police said the suspects were described as two tall, lanky black men from 13-16 years old. One was wearing a white T-shirt and a red baseball hat, and the other was wearing plaid shorts, according to a police report.

RETAIL THEFT
Ian Duffy, 43, of 1640 W. Morse Ave. in Chicago, was arrested and charged with retail theft at 2485 Howard St. on Sept. 1 at 1:38 a.m. A trial date has been set for Sept. 20 at 9 a.m.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Melissa A. Radloff, 33, of 8918 Lacrosse Ave. in Skokie, was arrested at 1910 Dempster Ave. on Sept. 1 at 10:20 p.m. and charged with disorderly conduct. A trial date has been set for Sept. 24 at 9 a.m.
DRUG CHARGE
Julius Gregory Robinson, 27, of 9515 Sumac Rd. in Des Plaines, was arrested at 622 Hull Ter. on Sept. 1 at 12:04 a.m. and charged with possession of a controlled substance. A trial date has been set for Sept. 13 at 9 a.m.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS
Deontre Delvon Chess, 19, of 7516 N. California Ave. in Chicago, was arrested at 120 Custer Ave. on Sept. 1 at 6:17 p.m. and charged with criminal trespass. A court date has been set for Oct. 6 at 1:30 p.m.
BICYCLE THEFTS
A blue Schwinn bicycle, unlocked along a fence, was stolen from the 1000 block of Emerson on Aug. 28.
A green and silver Trek Navigator 100 was stolen from the 1700 block of Chicago on Aug. 22.
Several bicycles were stolen during a garage break-in on Aug. 29 in the 2200 block of Madison.
VEHICLE THEFT
A black 2001 BMW was reported stsolen from the 400 block of Sherman between 10 p.m. Aug. 31 and 1:10 p.m. Sept.1.
WHEEL THEFT
An unknown person or persons took a wheel from a 2001 Honda on the 400 block of Dewey at midnight on Sept. 1.
