Police Raid Ashland Ave. House For Drugs, Arrest 3

Evanston police arrested three men on misdemeanor charges of possession of cannabis after searching a home in the 1800 block of Ashland Avenue Wednesday.

Evanston police executed a search warrant Wednesday at a home on Ashland Avenue and arrested three men on misdemeanor drug charges, according to a release from the police department.

Neighbors had told police that they suspected there could be drug dealing going on at a residence at 1824 Ashland Ave., according to Cmdr. Jay Parrott. When officers searched the home, they found small amounts of cannabis. 

Police arrested three men and charged them with misdemeanor possession of cannabis. Leonard I. Johnson, 70, and Jerome T. Jefferson, 21, both of the 1800 block of Ashland, and Sean C. McClure, 20, of the 800 block of Dodge Avenue, are expected to appear in court July 19, according to Parrott.
