Police Investigate Report of Shots Fired on Asbury

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:

Arrests: DUI, Retail Theft, Possession of Cannabis

Roy Norman Baptist, 66, of the 1300 block of Chancellor Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 1:44 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, in the 1400 block of Ridge Avenue, according to police.

Demenyon Dimitry Chism, 18, of the 2000 block of West Birchwood in Chicago, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 3:32 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, in the 300 block of Howard Street, police reported.

Leo Mark Steele, 59, of the 1500 block of Brummel Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with retail theft after he stole batteries from the Home Depot at 2201 Oakton St. at 1:24 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, police reported.

Report of Shots Fired on Asbury

Police investigated a report that someone had fired a gun in the 2300 block of Asbury Avenue at 2:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, according to police. Nothing was found in the area.
