Police: Men With Guns Invade Evanston Home

Police are investigating a reported home invasion in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue Wednesday, Aug. 1.

An Evanston man heard a knock on his door and opened it to find three young men brandishing guns on Wednesday afternoon, according to police. 

The three men confronted the 21-year-old victim around 2:45 p.m. while a fourth stood watch outside the victim's home in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue, police reported. 

Two women and three children were also home when the four offenders arrived, according to police. Witnesses reported hearing the men refer to the location of money and drugs, and described them as being in their late teens or early twenties.

After two people in the home escaped through a window, the young men with guns ran away, police reported. No one was injured.

Police searched the area around the home, but were unable to find any suspects nearby. Detectives are still investigating the crime.
