Police: Pedestrian Hit By Car on Church Street

Evanston police are investigating an incident where a pedestrian was hit by a driver at Church Street and Benson Avenue Thursday morning.

A pedestrian was struck by a car around 8 a.m. Thursday morning at the intersection of Church Street and Benson Avenue, according to police.

Paramedics transported the 63-year-old man who was injured to NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston for treatment of a head injury. The injury is not believed to be life threatening, according to a press release from Police Cmdr. Jay Parrott.

The driver of the car was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian, Parrott said in the release.
