Police: Robbery Suspect Arrested

The man is 18 years old and from Evanston.

An Evanston man was arrested Monday after police say he knocked a man to the ground, pinned him down, and robbed him of a cell phone and iPod.

The robbery occurred Monday at around 2:50 p.m. at Greenleaf St. and Dewey Ave. Police said they received a report that a teenager from Evanston had been robbed.

"Police officers on the scene gave out a description of the offenders to nearby police units in the area.  Plain clothes tactical unit officers in the area located two subjects within a few blocks matching the description provided by the victim. These subjects were stopped by police in the 1800 block of Dempster St," said Cmdr. Jay Parrott of the Evanston Police Department.
