Residents Say Police Failed to Respond to Noise Complaints

People said they called the police to report a party at which a violent fight occurred.

Evanston residents told police last week at a neighborhood meeting that they felt their calls about noise complaints during a recent party went unanswered.

A woman at the meeting said she called police twice that night to complain about noise coming from the house, located at 1223 Dodge Avenue, but said police never showed up.

The Pioneer Press reported that Evanston Police Chief Richard Eddington told residents that he would check call logs to verify reports of those calls and report back to the community on his findings.
