Robber Displays Gun, Demands Money

A man pointed a gun at his victim and demanded money, then stole cash and drove off in a 2002 Ford at 5:20 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, in the 2200 block of Oakton Street, according to police.

Purse Snatched at Sherman and Washington

A man grabbed a woman’s black leather purse as she was leaving her car at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at the intersection of Sherman Avenue and Washington Street, according to police.

Thief Steals Car Left Running On Hinman

Someone stole a four-door 2007 Ford Focus with the license plate 9452127 that was left running in an alley in the 1800 block of Hinman Avenue at 9:01 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, police reported. 

Arrests: Cannabis Possession, Battery, Etc.

Emily Aliyev, 21, of the 9800 block of Gross Point Road in Skokie, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis Friday, Jan. 18, in the 9600 block of Karlov, according to police. 

A woman was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 6:06 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, police reported. 

Antonio R. Hooper, 44, of the 1900 block of Emerson Street, was arrested and charged with violating an order of protection at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at his home, according to police.

Alexandria Hestia Malec, 19, of the 9800 block of Kedvale in Skokie, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis Friday, Jan. 18, in the 9600 block of Karlov, police reported. 

Shaheed Fareed Muhammad, 43, of the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue, was arrested and charged with theft under $500 at 9:59 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, according to police. 

Anurag Saboo, 26, of the 1700 block of Chicago Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at his home at 11:55 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, police reported. 

Terry T. Spearman, 18, of the 1800 block of Church Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with battery in the 1700 block of Orrington Avenue at 9:01 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, according to police. 

Margaret Lauren Welch, 21, of the 300 block of Essex Road in Kenilworth, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at 2:05 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, in the 1500 block of Noyes Street, police reported. 

Bikes Stolen On Kedzie, Oak, Central, Ridge

Someone stole 24-inch white men’s Trek mountain bicycle from a garage in the 500 block of Kedzie Street between 12:01 and 11:40 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, police reported. 

Someone stole a 21-speed silver and blue Trek mountain bike from an unlocked apartment storage locker in the 1200 block of Oak Avenue between 12 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, and 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, according to police. 

Someone stole a GT mountain bike with disc brakes that was locked up at the Central Street train station between 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, according to police. 

Someone stole a brown and black Specialized bicycle from an unlocked storage locker in the 2100 block of Ridge Avenue between 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, and 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, police reported. 

Grill Stolen From Yard on Emerson

Someone stole a Grillmaster grill that was chained to a fence in the 1000 block of Emerson Street between 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, and 12 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, according to police. 

Cash Stolen From Restaurant Counter

Two men stole cash from the counter of a restaurant in the 500 block of Main Street between 6:40 and 6:52 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, according to police. 

Cell Phones Stolen From Lockers

Someone stole an Apple Verizon cell phone from a locked locker at Evanston Township High School between 1:19 and 2:01 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, police reported. 

Someone stole a Black HTC cell phone and silver Apple iTouch from an unlocked gym locker in the 1000 block of Grove Street between 6 and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, according to police. 

Clothes Stolen From Laundromat

Someone stole clothing that had been left unattended at a Laundromat in the 800 block of Main Street at 9:54 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, police reported. 

Attempted Retail Theft On Asbury

A man and a woman attempted to steal something from a store in the 100 block of Asbury Avenue but left the products behind after they were confronted by an employee at 7:22 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, police reported. 

Criminal Damage to Property

Someone broke the window of a home in the 1800 block of Keeney Street at 4:25 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, according to police.

A woman damaged signs in an apartment or condo common area in the 700 block of Hinman Avenue between 5 and 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, police reported. 

Someone broke the window of a business in the 1800 block of Dempster Street at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, according to police.

Someone broke the window of an apartment in the 2500 block of Prairie Avenue between 9 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, and 2:39 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, according to police.
