Robber Displays Gun, Steals Laptop

Robber Displays Gun, Steals Laptop

A robber displayed a handgun and stole a man’s backpack containing a Thinkpad laptop issued by Evanston Township High School at Dodge Avenue and Simpson Street between 11:35 and 11:50 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, according to police.

Gunfire Reported at Lyons and Dodge

Police investigated a report that someone had fired a gun at Lyons Street and Dodge Avenue at 8:31 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30. Nothing was found in the area.

Woman Hits Victim In Face

A known female offender hit her victim in the face at 5:45 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at a business in the 2300 block of Main Street, according to police. 

Arrests: DUI, Battery, Retail Theft

Marjorie Harle Carson, 21, of the 300 block of Wesley Street in Evanston, and Brandon J. Mottley, 22, of the 400 block of Callan Avenue in Evanston, were arrested and charged with retail theft after they allegedly stole food from a grocery store in the 2400 block of Howard Street at 5:53 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, according to police.

Saul Castaneda, 33, of the 600 block of Dempster Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct at 3 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, in the 800 block of Grove Street, police reported. 

William Thomas Dombai, 22, of the 7000 block of North Oleander in Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 5:12 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, in the 1200 block of Cleveland Street, according to police. 

George L. Lord, 44, of the 800 block of 13th Street in North Chicago, was arrested and charged with battery at 5:50 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, police reported. 

A 32-year-old Evanston man was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 11:34 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, according to police. 

Pickpocket Takes Wallet On Sherman

Someone stole a mustard yellow bi-fold wallet and its contents from a purse in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue between 2:30 and 4:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, police reported. 

Thief Steals Salvation Army Kettle Base

Someone stole the base of a Salvation Army kettle from a grocery store in the 1900 block of Dempster Street between 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, and 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, according to police. 

Car Burglar Takes Cash, Purse

Someone entered an unlocked 1998 Toyota that was parked in the 1900 block of Sherman Avenue between 2:30 and 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, and stole cash and a leather shoulder-strap purse with its contents, police reported. 

Retail Theft: DVDs, Face Mask

Security officers stopped a man as he tried to leave a store in the 2200 block of Howard Street with DVDs he hadn’t paid for at 11:35 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, police reported. 

A man stole a facemask from a business in the 300 block of Howard Street at 1:50 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, police reported.

Man Breaks Glass On Dodge

A man broke the glass in the door of a business in the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue at 6:59 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, police reported.

Vandal Scratches Honda on Grove

Someone scratched a 1998 Honda that was parked in the 1000 block of Grove Street between 12 and 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, police reported.
