Robber Displays Knife On Howard Street

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:

Robber Displays Knife On Howard Street
A man displayed a small pocket knife and demanded his victim's property in the parking lot of a business in the 2300 block of Howard Street at 5:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, according to police. The robber made off with cash.

Arrests: DUI, Aggravated Assault
Elizabeth E. Blackwell, 30, of the 300 block of Asbury Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 2:15 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, in the 1800 block of Maple Avenue, according to police.

Diaz Montez Cannida, 44, of the 2000 block of Oakton Street, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault at 8:33 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at his home, according to police. 

A 35-year-old Evanston man was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, according to police.

Ronald Patrick Lynch, 55, of the 1200 block of West Pratt in Chicago, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to land in the 300 block of Dempster Street at 12:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, police reported.

Jonathan T. Nance, 39, of the 2100 block of Emerson Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance at 2:28 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, in the 1900 block of Asbury Avenue, police reported.

A 30-year-old Chicago man was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, police reported. 

Juan Rolando Reyes-Ruiz, 45, of the 1600 block of West Farwell in Chicago, was arrested and charged with battery at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, in the 1400 block of Sherman Avenue, police reported.

Adrina Lastarr Rose, 29, of the 6100 block of South Francisco Avenue in Chicago, was arrested and charged with battery at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, in the 1400 block of Elmwood Avenue, police reported. 

Gunfire Reported on Hartrey, Sherman
Police investigated a report that someone fired a gun in the 1400 block of Hartrey Avenue at 12:11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, according to police. Nothing was found in the area.

Police investigated a report that someone fired a gun in the 2200 block of Sherman Avenue at 1:54 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, according to police. 

Six Burglaries Reported Between Thursday and Saturday
Someone broke the window of the New Lucky Main Pantry in the 500 block of Main Street around 5:15 a.m. Friday, Jan. 17, according to police. The burglar stole cash and a Samsung digital video recorder.

Someone broke a window in the 500 block of Asbury Avenue and stole copper valves, a Milwaukee radio with iPod dock and ceiling fan between 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, and 9:50 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, police reported.

Someone broke the window of a warehouse in the 2100 block of Dempster Street and stole cash between 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, and 9:57 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, according to police. 

Someone tried to remove the air conditioner from the window of a business in the 2800 block of Central Street between 6:30 and 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, according to police.

Someone entered an unlocked apartment in the 700 block of Mulford Street and stole cash between 6:35 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, police reported.

Someone forced open the door of an apartment in the 900 block of Dobson STreet and stole a Sony DVD player between 12 and 7:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, according to police. 

Car Burglars Steals Musical Instrument, Exercise Clothes
Someone stole a Godin classical acoustic music instrument from an unlocked 2010 Volkswagen parked in a garage in the 800 block of Elgin Road between 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, according to police.

Someone stole a bag containing jeans and exercise clothing from a 2013 Kia parked in an alley in the 300 block of Custer Street at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, according to police.

Thief Steals Jewelry on Custer
A man stole four gold bracelets, three gold rings and four gold chains from an apartment in the 300 block of Custer Avenue between Dec. 1 and Jan. 20, police reported. 

Sales Manuscript Stolen From Briefcase
Someone stole a 55-page sales manuscript from a briefcase left unattended at a chain restaurant in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue between 8 and 10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, according to police.

Retail Theft: Alcohol, North Face Clothing
A man stole alcohol from a grocery store in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue at 5:58 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, according to police.

A man stole a North Face black scarf and vest from a chain business in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue at 12:03 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, according to police.

A man and woman stole a North Face Denali jacket from a chain business in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue between 2:41 and 2:52 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, according to police. 

Wallet, iPhone, Jacket, Boots Stolen From Gym Lockers
Someone stole a black wallet, black iPhone 5, iPhone 4, London Fog jacket and keys from a locked gym locker in the 1000 block of Grove Street between 2 and 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, police reported.

Someone stole Timberland black and gray nylon men's boots from an unlocked gym locker in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue between 1:07 and 1:53 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, police reported. 

Graffiti Appears on Dodge, Sherman
Graffiti appeared in the 800 block of Dodge Avenue between 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, and 8:00 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, according to police.

Graffiti appeared at Sherman Avenue and Dempster STreet at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, according to police.
