Robbers Display Gun, Steal Cash on Callan

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:

Robbers Display Gun, Steal Cash
Two men displayed a grey and green handgun, then demanded their victim's property in the 400 block of Callan Avenue at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, according to police. They made off with cash, police said.

Arrests: DUI, Cannabis Possession
Larry R. Hewitt, 62, of the 6700 block of South Paxton in Chicago, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 1:12 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, police reported.

Marc Andre Jenkins, 42, of the 100 block of Asbury Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, in the 100 block of Custer Avenue, police reported.

Diego Roberto Rael, 42, of the 1500 block of Birchwood in Chicago, was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, in the 700 block of Chicago Avenue.

Dexter R. Roknich, 26, of the 1400 block of Webster Lane in Des Plaines, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 8:50 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, in the 300 block of Ridge Avenue, according to police.

Tandem Bike Stolen on Cleveland
Someone stole a tandem two-seater Miyata bicycle that was locked in a yard in the 1700 block of Cleveland Street at 8:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, police reported.

Car Burglar Steals Cash
Someone stole cash from an unlocked 2004 Hyundai parked in an alley in the 400 block of Callan Avenue between 6:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, and 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, according to police.

Man Punches Mercedes-Benz
A man punched the hood of a 2008 Mercedes-Benz and damaged the mirror at Davis Street and Sherman Avenue at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, police reported. 

Thief Steals Package on Sherman
Someone stole packages containing a waterproof Phillips bluetooth speaker and a leather planner from the 2000 block of Sherman AVenue between 4:03 and 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, according to police.
