Robbers Display Knife, Steal Cash From Taxi Driver

One man grabbed a taxi driver from behind while another man with a knife demanded his property in the 1700 block of Brown Avenue between 6:55 and 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, according to police.

Arrests: Aggravated Battery, Possession of Cannabis

Dametre Gemal Irby, 21, of the 1700 block of Simpson Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 1:40 a.m. June 4 in the 1500 block of Wesley Avenue, police reported.

Marvin B. Patterson, 26, of the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, according to police. 

John Joseph Weisenberger, 51, of the 1600 block of Highland Avenue in Wilmette, was arrested and charged with battery Friday, Aug. 2, according to police.

Gunfire Reported On Lee, Callan

Police investigated a report that someone fired a gun in the 1900 block of Lee Street between 11:55 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, and 12:10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2. Nothing was found in the area.

Car Stolen From Downtown Evanston

Someone stole a four-door, silver 2002 Volskwagen Passat with the license plate number 9110876 from Sherman Avenue and Lake Street at 12 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, according to police. 

Wallet Stolen From Park

Someone stole an Izod leather wallet and its contents that was left unattended in a park in the 300 block of Dodge Avenue between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, police reported. 

Car Burglar Steals CDs, Key

Someone stole CDs and a wheel lock key from a 2013 Acura that was left unlocked in the 2400 block of Cowper Avenue between 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, and 7 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, according to police. 

Criminal Damage

Someone scratched a 2007 Toyota parked in the 900 block of Hinman Avenue between 8:45 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, according to police.

Graffiti appeared in the 1800 block of Lyons Street at 3:02 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, police reported. 

Graffiti appeared in the 1600 block of Church Street at 2:59 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, according to police.
