Robbers Hit Victim, Steal Earbuds

Two men struck their victim in the face, then tried to grab his cell phone at 3:27 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at the intersection of Dempster Street and Dodge Avenue, according to police. The men took off with the victim’s Apple earbuds, police said.

Assault Reported on Brummel

A known offender “clenched her firsts” during an assault in the 700 block of Brummel Street at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, police reported. 

Arrests: Possession of Cannabis, Credit Card Fraud, DUI

Marcus Aimond Austin, 24, of the 1700 block of Payne in Evanston, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 7:35 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, in the 1700 block of Simpson Street, police reported. 

Stephanie Antionette Brown, 26, of the 600 block of North Central Street in Chicago, was arrested and charged with credit card fraud at 12:02 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, in the 2300 block of Howard Street, police reported. 

Susan K. Khano, 33, of the 6200 block of Lincoln in Morton Grove, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 9:51 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, in the 700 block of Dobson Street, police reported.

Kemara McKenzie, 21, of the 1500 block of West Jonquil in Chicago, was arrested and charged with criminal damage to a vehicle in the 5600 block of Old Orchard Road in Skokie, police reported. 

Rommel Eugene Savage, 37, of the 2000 block of Darrow in Evanston, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at his home at 12:43 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, police reported. 

A 57-year-old man was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, according to police. 

Leon Yek-Lung Yung, 21, of the 5600 block of Canyon Forest in Houston, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at 2 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, in the 2600 block of Ridge Avenue, police reported. 

Residential Burglaries on Grant, Ridge, Oakton

Someone damaged the windowpane of the front door of a home in the 3000 block of Grant Street between 10 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, according to police. 

Someone stole cash, a Ryobi leaf blower and McDonald’s gift card from a garage in the 2300 block of Ridge Avenue between 10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, and 5 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, police reported. 

Someone entered an unlocked apartment in the 600 block of Oakton Street and stole jewelry between 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, and 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, according to police. The items reported missing include round diamond stud earrings, a Swiss Legend watch with a silver metal band and aqua blue face, a silver metal Guess watch with a black face and a brown leather bomber jacket with pockets on the sleeves.

Car Burglaries On Oakton, Dempster, Emerson

Someone stole documents from a 2007 BMW parked in an apartment lot in the 600 block of Oakton Street between 11 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, and 8:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, police reported. 

Someone damaged the driver’s side front window and stole a Garmin GPS from a 2006 Dodge parked in the 300 block of Dempster Street at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, according to police.

Someone used a key to steal documents from a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 2200 block of Emerson Street between 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, and 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, police reported. 

Thefts: Laptop Computer, Wallet, Cell Phone

Someone used a key to enter an apartment in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue and stole a one-and-a-half year-old Hewlett Packard computer between 10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, and 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, according to police.   

Someone stole a Swiss Army wallet with its contents and an Apple cell phone in a blue case from an unlocked locker at a building in the 1700 block of Main Street between 9 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, police reported. 

Retail Theft: Prepaid Cell Phone

A man stole a T-Mobile prepaid cell phone from a business in the 2300 block of Howard Street around 6:08 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, according to police. 

Criminal Damage to Property

A man damaged the front door of an apartment or condo in the 500 block of Hinman Avenue between 2:10 and 2:20 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, police reported.
