The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:

Robbers Punch Victim, Steal Cell Phone From Pocket

Two men reached into their victim’s pocket, took out a cell phone and punched the victim in the face at Chicago Avenue and South Boulevard at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, police reported.

Burglaries Reported on Sherman, Hartrey, Dodge

Someone entered the unlocked window of an office building in the 1200 block of Sherman Avenue between 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, and 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, according to police.

Someone damaged the rear basement door of a home in the 1900 block of Hartrey Avenue around 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, according to police. 

Someone entered the unlocked window of a home in the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue and stole cash, a wallet, Cricket cell phone, dark pants and a belt between 12:30 and 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, police reported. 

Thief Steals Wallet From Park

Someone stole a black leather wallet that was left unattended in a park in the 1400 block of Oak Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, according to police.

Bikes Stolen On Cleveland, Elmwood, Dodge, Central

A man stole a bike with a black leather seat from an unlocked garage in the 1200 block of Cleveland Street at 3:29 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, according to police. 

Someone stole a Trek bicycle with lots of accessories and a Roadmaster 24-inch men’s, five-speed men’s mountain bicycle with hand brakes that were locked to the rail of a porch in the 600 block of Sherman avenue between 12:01 and 5 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, police reported.

Someone stole ten-speed, 26-inch men’s Trek mountain bicycle with hand brakes that was left unlocked on bike storage rack in the 1600 block of Dodge Avenue at 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 22, police reported.

Someone stole a White Magna bicycle with green tires that was locked to a storage rack in the 1000 block of Central Street between 7:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, according to police.

Man Pours Sugar into Gas Tank

A man poured sugar into the gas tank of a 2011 Nissan parked in the 1400 block of Darrow Avenue between 11 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, and 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, according to police.

Gas Cap Stolen On Cleveland

Someone damaged the gas tank door and took the gas cap from a 1992 Toyota parked in the 1600 block of Cleveland Street at 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, police reported. 

Retail Theft

A man stole from a drug store in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue around 12 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, police reported. 

Criminal Damage to Property

Someone damaged a patio umbrella at a retirement home in the 1500 block of Oak Avenue between 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, according to police.

A man damaged the doorframe of a restaurant in the 900 block of Davis Street between 11:30 a.m. and 7:55 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, police reported.

Someone damaged a plastic fence in a yard in the 1900 block of Dewey Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, according to police. 

Graffiti Appears On Dempster

Graffiti appeared in an apartment or condo common area in the 600 block of Dempster Street between 8 p.m. Monday, July 22, and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, according to police.
