The following arrests and incidents were reported by Evanston Police:

Robbers Steal iPhone at Gunpoint

Three male teenagers, one armed with a handgun, stole a 26-year-old woman’s iPhone in the 700 block of Hinman Avenue at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, according to police.

Man Asks to Borrow Phone, Then Steals It

A man asked to borrow a woman’s cell phone, then took off with the iPhone in a red case at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, in the 800 block of Sheridan, according to police.

Arrest: Possession of Cannabis

Austine Chinedu Okacha, 23, of the 1300 block of Washington, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 11:43 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, police reported. 

Bikes Stolen On Simpson, Emerson, Ridge

Someone stole a dark silver, 2005 Bianchi bicycle with raised handlebars and fenders from an unlocked garage in the 1200 block of Simpson Street between Aug. 12 and 21, police reported.

Someone stole an unlocked Schwinn mountain bicycle from the parking lot of a business in the 800 block of Emerson Street around 4 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, according to police.

Someone stole a red and black Specialized men’s bicycle that was locked up in an apartment or condo common area in the 2200 block of Ridge Avenue between Aug. 9 and 20, police reported.

Someone stole a blue men’s bicycle that was left unlocked in an alley in the 1800 block of Simpson Street between 12 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, and 12 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, according to police.

Car Burglar Steals Garage Door Opener

Someone stole a garage door opener from a 2009 Volkswagen parked in the 3100 block of Isabella Street at 12:35 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, according to police.

Attempted Car Burglar On Darrow

A resident of the 1700 block of Darrow reported that someone pulled the handle of their car door and set off the alarm in an attempted burglary at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, police reported.
