Sleeping Child Unhurt When Shots Hit Mattress

Several rounds were fired into a home in the 2000 block of Dodge Ave. early Sunday morning, but no one was injured.

A sleeping child was unhurt after shots were fired into a home in the 2000 block of Dodge Avenue and one hit the mattress where the child was sleeping, the Chicago Tribune reports. No one else in the home, including another child, was injured.

Police, who were called to the home around 1 a.m. Sunday, said the shooting may be related to ongoing violence between two gangs, the article says. The investigation is ongoing.

Three recent shootings, two of them fatal, have been linked to an ongoing feud.
