Offenders Grab Victim, Steal Phone at Lake and Darrow

The following arrest information was supplied by the Evanston Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Strong-arm robbery

Police responded to a strong-arm robbery at Lake Street and Darrow Avenue on March 2 around 12:07 a.m. According to the report, two offenders grabbed the victim from behind and took his Samsung brand smartphone. The suspects were described as two black males, about 5-foot-5 and a 120-pounds, police said.

A man reported $500 stolen after visiting a friend’s apartment in the 500 block of Sherman Avenue on March 2. The victim is unsure who took his money, the report stated.

A laptop computer was reported stolen from a business in the 2200 block of Howard Street on March 2.

Stolen catalytic converter

A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 700 block of Reba Place on Feb. 27. The part contains precious metals that are typically sold to scrappers.

Shots fired

Police responded to a shots fired complaint in the 300 block of Dempster Street on March 1 around 11:47 p.m. Officers checked the area but did not find any bullet casings or suspects, the report stated.

Stolen cell

A cell phone was reported stolen from a gym in the 1000 block of Grove Street on March 2. The phone was left in an unlocked locker and was valued at around $500, the report stated.

Residential burglary

A home in the 1600 block of Fowler Avenue was burglarized on March 1. The offender(s) made entry by using brute force against a rear door, the report stated. Missing from the home was a Playstation 3, an iPad and a pair of Jordan sneakers.

Apartment burglary

An apartment in the 2900 block of Central Street was burglarized on March 2. Missing from the unit was a platinum and diamond ring.

Retail theft

Three North Face brand jackets were reported stolen from a store in the 900 block of Church Street on March 3 around 4:15 p.m.

Apartment burglary

Cash and a cell phone were reported stolen from an apartment in the 800 block of Dobson Street on March 2. According to the report, the resident left their door unlocked.

Domestic battery

A 26-year-old Skokie man was charged with domestic battery on March 2. 

DUI

Adam Carl Donda, 42, of Waukegan, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on March. 3 around 8:43 p.m. The driver was stopped near the intersection of Golf Road and Kedvale Avenue, police said.

Electronic harassment

Danielle Marie Ferrara, 24, of Gurnee, was charged with four counts of harassment via electronic communication on March. 2. Ferrara was arrested in the 1400 block of Elmwood around 10:55 a.m. No further details were provided.

Theft

Ryan Haney, 30, of Chicago, was charged with theft on March 1. He was arrested in the 800 block of Chicago Avenue around 3 p.m., poice said.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Antonio Borislov Mladenow, 21, of Skokie, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia on March 1. The suspect was arrested in the 1700 block of Payne Street around 3 a.m., police said.
