Structure Fire on Seward Street

No one was injured in the fire that broke out around 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Evanston firefighters responded to a fire at 714 Seward Street around 9:16 p.m. Wednesday. No one was injured, according to a press release.

Fire was reported on the second floor bedroom and also extending into the attic. Fire companies from eight departments helped put the fire out at 9:48 p.m.

The residents of the home, who reported the fire, were having some work done to the roof of the structure and fire officials suspect this to be the cause of the fire, according to a press release.

Although the residents were displaced by the fire no assistance was needed from the Red Cross.
