Student Caught With Airsoft Gun, Knife at ETHS

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:
Student Caught With Airsoft Gun, Knife at ETHS
A 17-year-old student at Evanston Township High School faces a misdemeanor charge for disorderly conduct after school officials found an airsoft gun and folding knife in his gym locker at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, according to police.

After questioning the student, police said they do not believe he intended to harm anyone at school.
School officials also checked his personal locker, where they found a bottle of liquor, police said. The student may also face charges for possession of alcohol as a minor and possession of an airsoft gun.

Burglary Reported on Reba, Davis
Someone forced open the backdoor of an apartment in the 900 block of Reba Place and stole a Nikon digital camera between 12 and 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, police reported.
Someone entered a business in the 500 block of Davis Street and stole a black Fujitsu PC tablet laptop computer between 5:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30, and 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, according to police.
Arrests: Retail Theft, Criminal Damage to Property
Melisa Gail Mansfield, 42, of the 800 block of Brummel Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with retail theft at 5:21 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, in the 1900 block of Dempster Street, police reported.
Lynette G. Wilson, 23, of the 1800 block of Lyons in Evanston, was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at the Cook County Circuit Court House in Skokie.
Car Burglaries Reported on Madison
Someone entered an unlocked 1997 Plymouth parked in the 1600 block of Madison Street between 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, and 8 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, police reported.
Someone entered an unlocked car in the 1800 block of Madison Street and stole an iPhone car charger between 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, and 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, according to police.
Man Steals Cash, Coach Wallet in Taxi
A known offender stole a woman’s blue coach wallet and cash from her hand whiel she was in a taxi at Dempster Street and Chicago Avenue
Man Steals Cigarettes From Grocery Store
A man stole cigarettes from a grocery store in the 2400 block of Howard Street between 11:38 and 11:50 a.m. Monday, Sept. 2, according to police.
Car Window Broken On Grey
Someone broke the window of a 2011 Kia parked in the 100 block of Grey Avenue at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, police reported.
