Suspected Dealer Arrested After Police Find Cocaine, Loaded Gun

Evanston police arrested a 26-year-old Evanston man after they found marijuana, crack cocaine $1,300 in cash and a loaded .38 caliber revolver at his home.

Police charged a 26-year-old Evanston man with multiple felonies after they found marijuana, crack cocaine and a loaded gun at his home, police said.

The Evanston Police Department’s special operations group executed a search warrant for narcotics in the 1100 block of Sherman Avenue in Evanston on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, according to a press release. They found approximately 600 grams of marijuana, six grams of crack cocaine, $1,300 in cash and a loaded .38 caliber revolver. 

Police could not find the suspect they were looking for at first, but Christopher L. Rucker, of the 1100 block of Sherman Avenue, turned himself in Monday, June 10.

 He was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon, all felonies. He was also charged with possession of a firearm without a firearm owner’s ID and possession of ammunition without a firearm owner’s ID, according to police.
