Thief Asks to Borrow Phone, Then Runs Off

Gunfire Reported on Ashland

Police investigated a report that someone fired a gun in the 1800 block of Ashland Avenue at 10:49 p.m. Thursday, July 18. Nothing was found in the area.

Thief Asks to Borrow Phone, Then Runs Off

A man asked to borrow a woman’s phone at the Davis Street CTA station, and when she handed it to him, he ran off with it, according to police. The incident happened at 2:35 p.m. Thursday, July 18, police reported.

Arrests: Underage Drinking, Disorderly Conduct

Justin Bryant, 32, of the 9900 block of Linda Lane in Des Plaines, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, in the 1800 blcok of Brown Avenue, according to police.

Daniel Evan David, 19, of the 900 block of Sheridan Road, was arrested and charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor at 2:23 a.m. Friday, July 19, according to police.

Christian Hernandez, 27, of the 2000 block of Grey Avenue, was arrested and charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor at 9:13 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, police reported.

Beauty Shop Burglar Caught On Camera

A man was caught on camera trying to break into the back door of a beauty shop in the 600 block of Howard Street at 2:34 a.m. Sunday, July 14, according to police. 

Keys Stolen From Storage Shed

A man stole keys from a storage shed in the 1800 block of Crain Street between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. Thursday, July 18, according to police.

Laptop Stolen in Car Burglary

Someone stole a Dell laptop computer from a car parked in an alley in the 700 block of Chicago Avenue between 2:15 and 2:49 p.m. Thursday, July 18, according to police. 

Copper Tubing Stolen On Lemar

Someone stole the copper tubing from an air conditioning unit in the 1800 block of Lemar Avenue between April 1 and July 4, according to police. 

Car Windows Broken On Hartey

Someone broke all the windows of a 2008 Ford parked in the 1200 block of Hartrey Avenue between 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, and 6:55 a.m. Thursday, July 18, according to police.
