Woman Steals Ruby, Opal, Diamond Jewelry On Sheridan

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department

Woman Steals More Than $500 in Jewelry

A woman stole a 2 carat diamond ring, diamond stud earrings, pearl necklace, red ruby ring, gold diamond ring and black opal from the bedroom closet of a home in the 1400 block of Sheridan Road between Nov. 30 and Jan. 22, police reported.

Retail Theft: Tennis Shoes, Alcohol

Viktor Petrovic, 56, of the 6300 block of North Mozart in Chicago, was arrested and charged with retail theft after he and a woman allegedly stole a pair of Swiss gear tennis shoes from a department store in the 2200 block of Howard Street at 5:54 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, police reported.

Alimou Kone, 24, of the 500 block of West 14th Place in Chicago, was arrested and charged with retail theft after he allegedly stole alcohol from a grocery store in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue at 1:22 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, police reported.

Theft: Cash, Cell Phone, Ladder

Someone stole cash from an unlocked drawer in a business in the 2100 block of Greenleaf Street between 6:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, and 7 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, according to police. 

Someone stole an AT&T Apple cell phone with the number 804-405-5745 from a backpack at Evanston Township High School between 2:06 and 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, police reported.

Someone cut a lock cable and stole a 20-foot aluminum ladder, six steps, three planks and a dolly from a business in the 2100 block of Greenleaf Street between 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, and 8:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, according to police.

Bar Window, House Window Damaged

Two men damaged the front window of a bar in the 1400 block of Sherman Avenue between 11:10 and 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, according to police. 

Someone damaged the window of a home in the 2000 block of Grey Avenue at 8:57 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, according to police. 

Graffiti Found in the Park

Graffiti appeared in a park in the 1700 block of Ashland Avenue between 6 and 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, police reported.
