Thief Swipes Romney/Ryan Signs

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:

Arrests: Assault, Cannabis, DUI

Usama Abdul-Motaleb, 29, of the 2100 block of Howard Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with assault at his home at 10:17 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, according to police.

Jeffery Lodell Brown, 48, of the 1300 block of West Estes in Chicago, was arrested and charged with retail theft after he allegedly stole from a department store at 2209 Howard St. in Evanston between 5:18 and 5:25 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, according to police. 

Irina Chigrin, 51, of the 200 block of Woodstone Circle in Buffalo Grove, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence at Dodge Avenue and Main Street at 10:52 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, police reported.

Andre J. Elstrom, 42, of the 900 block of North Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct at 6:16 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, in the 600 block of Main Street, according to police. 

Shaquill Douglas Green, 20, of the 1800 block of Hartrey Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at his home at 12:51 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, police reported. 

A 48-year-old man from Evanston was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 5:20 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, according to police. 

Buick Scratched on Dodge

Someone scratched a 2003 Buick parked in the 1100 block of Dodge Avenue between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, police reported. 

Romney/Ryan Sign Stolen On Grant

Someone stole a Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan campaign sign from a yard in the 2300 block of Grant Street between 1 and 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, police reported. 

Planter, Vegetation Damaged On Maple, Ashland

Someone broke a black and brown 30-inch planter in the 2000 block of Maple Avenue between 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, and 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, according to police.

Someone pulled all the vegetation out of a sidewalk in the 2100 block of Ashland Avenue between 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, and 3:25 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, police reported.
