Thieves Grab Phone at Emerson and Sheridan

Two men grabbed an Apple cell phone from their victim’s hand at Emerson and Sheridan at 8:20 p.m. Sunday, July 28, police reported.

Arrests: Criminal Damage, Retail Theft

Charles F. Franco, 19, of the 1600 block of Simpson Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with retail theft after he stole alcohol from a grocery store in the 2400 block of Main Street at 7:07 p.m. Saturday, July 27, according to police.

Todd J. Kemnitz, 41, of the 1400 block of Chicago Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property in the 700 block of Church Street at 5:55 p.m. Friday, July 26, police reported.

Azure Lynne Reynolds, 35, of the 1100 block of Church Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with retail theft after she stole hygiene products from a drug store in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue at 11:13 a.m. Friday, July 26, police reported.

Carl Lee Rhodes was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing at 1:15 p.m. Friday, July 26, in the 1800 block of Lyons Street. He did not provide an address to police.

Barry A. Ross, 58, of the 2400 block of Nathaniel in Evanston, was arrested and charged with retail theft at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 27, in the 2400 block of Main Street, according to police.

Daemon Travon Sanders, 33, of the 1400 block of Darrow Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct at 11:25 a.m. Thursday, July 25, police reported.

Enrique D. Santiago, 18, of the 3200 block of North Ottawa in Chicago, was arrested and charged with retail theft at 9:48 p.m. Saturday, July 27, in the 1900 block of Dempster Street, according to police.

Cars Stolen On Forest, Davis, Dobson

Someone stole a tan, four-door hatchback 1996 Toyota with the license plate N203240 from the 700 block of Forest Avenue at 1:24 p.m. Sunday, July 28, according to police.

Someone stole a white 2000 Dodge van with the license plate 7073194 from the 2400 block of Davis Street between 8 p.m. Thursday, July 25, and 7 a.m. Friday, July 26, according to police.

Someone stole a maroon, four-door 2007 vehicle of unknown make with the license plate L769869 from the 800 block of Dobson street at 9:58 a.m. Saturday, July 27, police reported.

Burglar Steals Designer Purses

Someone entered an unlocked apartment in the 700 block of Chicago Avenue and stole cash, a black Marc Jacobs purse and a white leather Kate Spade purse between 11 p.m. Thursday, July 25, and 4:30 a.m. Friday, July 26, police reported.

Gunfire Reported On Madison

Police investigated a report that someone fired a gun in the 2200 block of Madison Street at 10:13 p.m. Sunday, July 28. Nothing was found in the area.

Bikes Stolen On Madison, Hartzell, Isabella, Maple, Sherman

Someone broke a garage door in the 2200 block of Madison Place and stole a black Schwinn bicycle with gold lettering between 12 p.m. Friday, July 26, and 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, July 27, police reported.

Someone stole a beach cruiser style bicycle that was left unlocked in a yard in the 2500 block of Hartzell Street between 11:59 p.m. Thursday, July 25, and 8 a.m. Friday, July 26, according to police.

Someone stole a 1950’s-style Schwinn bicycle that was left unlocked in an alley in the 2400 block of Isabella Street between 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 27, and 12:30 a.m. Sunday, July 28, police reported.

Someone damaged the door of a garage in the 2100 block of Maple Avenue and stole a Schwinn bicycle with a skydiving sticker on the top bar between 6:30 and 9 p.m. Thursday, July 25, according to police.

Someone stole a 24-inch Trek children’s mountain bicycle that was locked up on a sidewalk in the 1700 block of Sherman Avenue between 7 and 9 p.m. Saturday, July 27, police reported.

A man entered the open rear window of a 1996 Volvo parked in the 6000 block of Hinman Avenue at 3:56 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, police reported.

A man struck his victim in the hand in the 1500 block of Oak Avenue between 11:55 p.m. Saturday, July 27, and 12:18 a.m. Sunday, July 28, according to police.
