The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:

Thieves Offer to Help, Steal Phone

Three men offered to help someone carry a heavy item inside an apartment, then stole their victim’s iPhone around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, in the 1100 block of Davis Street, according to police.

Gunman Reported On Jackson

Police investigated a report that there was a man with a gun in the 1900 block of Jackson Avenue between 7:24 and 7:25 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, according to police.

Arrests: DUI, Possession of Cannabis

Branden Martell Lee, 23, of the 1700 block of Darrow in Evanston, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, in the 1900 block of Jackson Avenue, according to police. 

Georgia B. Yelton, 49, of the 1500 block of Darrow in Evanston, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence in the 1800 block of Lake Street at 6:38 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, according to police.

Burglaries Reported On Jackson, Darrow, Lyons

Someone smashed the glass of the front door of a business in the 2100 block of Jackson Avenue and stole a Hewlett Packard desktop computer between 10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, and 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, police reported.

Someone broke the door and entered a home in the 1900 block of Darrow Avenue between 11 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, and 8 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, according to police. Nothing was reported missing. 

Someone entered the unlocked, enclosed porch of a home in the 1700 block of Lyons Street and stole tires a bicycle with thin tires, a high seat and handlebars with no grips between 3 and 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, police reported.

Car Burglaries On Brown Darrow,

Someone broke the door of a 2000 Chevrolet in the 1900 block of Darrow Avenue between 10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, and 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, according to police. Nothing was reported missing.

Someone entered an unlocked 1996 Ford and stole a briefcase in the 1800 block of Darrow Avenue between 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, and 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, police reported.

Tires Stolen On Hinman

Someone stole four tires from a 2007 Honda parked in a municipal lot in the 800 block of Hinman Avenue between 10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, and 7 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, police reported.

Woman Steals Hair Extensions

A woman stole two packs of hair extensions from a business in the 1100 block of Howard Street at 12:31 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, according to police.

Car Keyed On Elmwood, Roof Dented On Howard

Someone keyed a 2011 Honda parked in the 1300 block of Elmwood Street between 9:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, and 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, according to police.

A man dented the roof of a 2000 Nissan parked at Howard Street and Barton Place between 12:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, and 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, according to police.

Gang Graffiti Appears On Lake, Fowler

Three men sprayed gang graffiti in two separate places in the 2400 block of Lake Street between 11:02 and 11:19 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, police reported.

Three men sprayed gang graffiti in an alley in the 1400 block of Fowler Avenue between 11:02 and 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, according to police.
