The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:

Thieves Snatch iPad at Gas Station

Two men snatched an iPad from their victim’s hand at a gas station in the 500 block of Howard Street at 1:16 p.m. Saturday, July 20, police reported

Gunfire Reported On Stewart Avenue

Police investigated a report that someone fired a gun in the 2600 block of Stewart Avenue at 2:12 a.m. Tuesday, July 23. Nothing was found in the area.

Arrests: Possession of Cannabis, Domestic Battery

De Juan Dre, 26, of the 1400 block of Cleveland in Evanston, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 8:13 p.m. Monday, July 22, in the 2100 block of Church Street, police reported.

Justin Frazier, 44, of the 400 block of Sherman Avenue in Evansotn, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 2:58 a.m. Monday, July 22, outside his home, police reported.

A 28-year-old Evanston man was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 5:40 a.m. Sunday, July 21, according to police. 

Burglaries Reported On Oakton, Pitner, Callan, Sherman

Someone broke the window of a home in the 1100 block of Oakton Street between 8:15 and 8:58 p.m. Friday, July 19, according to police.

Someone stole broke the window of a business in the 900 block of Pitner Avenue and stole multiple tools between 3 p.m. Saturday, July 20, and 7:15 a.m. Monday, July 22, according to police. Missing items included: Panasonic cordless drills, Bosch/Porter CA routers, Dewalt chop box saws, a Festool vacuum, Festool saw, Festool domio, Porter cable pin nailer and Dewalt biscuit joiner.

A man stole an Acer laptop computer and 32-inch Toshiba flat screen TV by entering the unlocked window of an apartment in the 300 block of Callan Avenue between 11 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. Friday, July 19, according to police.

Someone stole perfume bottles and vitamins form an apartment in the 300 block of Sherman Avenue between 3:30 p.m. Monday, July 15, and 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 19, according to police.

Car Burglary On Lake

Two men entered an unlocked 1998 Nissan parked in the 1700 block of Lake Street at 2:48 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, according to police.

Bikes Stolen On Sherman, Hinman, Wesley

Someone stole a burgundy and grey 17-inch Trek hybrid bicycle that was left unlocked in an apartment or condo common area in the 600 block of Sherman Avenue, police reported.

Someone stole a 26-inch men’s Cannondale bicycle from an open garage in the 900 block of Hinman Avenue between 9:55 a.m. Monday, July 15, and 9 a.m. Saturday, July 20, according to police.

Two men stole a Schwinn bike in bad condition and a Roadstar bike, also in bad condition, from the yard of a home in the 2000 block of Wesley Avenue around 9:03 a.m. Sunday, July 21, police reported.

Thief Steals Weather Vane, Planters

Someone stole black iron fencing, concrete planters, a black metal weathervane and granite from a yard in the 800 block of Hamlin Street between 10 a.m. Saturday, July 20, and 10 a.m. Sunday, July 21, police reported. 

Vandal Cuts Convertible Top

Someone cut the top to a 2008 Audi convertible parked in the 2700 block of Bennett Avenue between 10 p.m. Sunday, July 21, and 8 a.m. Monday, July 22, according to police.

Car Windshield Smashed On Grant

Someone smashed the windshield of a 2012 Hyundai parked in a driveway in the 1900 block of Grant Street between 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 21, and 8 a.m. Monday, July 22, according to police.
