Three Charged With Retail Theft at Grocery Stores

Billy Gale Burks, 22, of the 1500 block of Simpson Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with retail theft after he allegedly stole a sandwich, peanuts, juice and alcohol from the Jewel Osco in the 2400 block of Howard Street at 1:09 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, according to police.

Carol Elaine Santee, 64, of the 400 block of Laurel Avenue in Wilmette, was arrested and charged with retail theft after she allegedly stole eggs, blueberries, liver oil pills and chicken salad from the Whole Foods Market in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, police reported. 

Brenda L. Stewart, 46, of the 8200 block of Skokie Boulevard in Skokie, was arrested and charged with retail theft after she allegedly stole food from a grocery store in the 1800 block of Ashland Avenue at 2:01 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, according to police.

Bicycles Stolen on Emerson, Foster

Someone stole two black bicycles by entering the unlocked window of a garage in the 1800 block of Emerson Street between 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, and 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, according to police. 

Someone stole a light blue and navy Mongoose BMX bicycle that was left unlocked in a yard in the 1800 block of Foster Street between 6:40 and 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, police reported. 

Thief Stole Gas From Car on South Boulevard

Someone siphoned gasoline from a 1991 Honda parked in the 600 block of South Boulevard between 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, police reported. 

Man Arrested For Violating an Order of Protection

Brandon Martell Lee, 22, of Evanston, was arrested and charged with violating an order of protection at the intersection of Church Street and Dodge Avenue at 2:15 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, according to police. 

License Plate Stolen On Colfax Terrace

Someone stole a license plate from a beige, four-door 2004 Toyota Corolla parked in the 2300 block of Colfax Terrace between 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, and 8 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, according to police. 

Criminal Damage to a Vehicle

Someone damaged the rear windshield of a 2001 Dodge that was parked in an alley in the 900 block of Hinman Avenue between 3:15 and 3:55 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, police reported. 

Someone left dents and scratches on the front and rear panels and passenger side door of a 1997 Chrysler parked in the 2100 block of Ridge Avenue between 2:12 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, and 2:10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, according to police.
