Three Evanston Police Officers Promoted to Sergeant

There will be a public ceremony for the officers on Monday.

Evanston Police Officers Kevin Campbell, Detective Jody Wright and Detective Melissa Sacluti will be promoted to the rank of Sergeant Monday afternoon at a public ceremony.

The ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Fire Department’s administrative training room at 909 Lake Street.

The Evanston Police Department provided the following information on the new Sergeants:

Officer Campbell was hired as an Evanston police officer in September of 2003. While attending the Chicago Police Academy, Officer Campbell was awarded the Outstanding Recruit Award. While serving in the patrol division, Officer Campbell became certified as an Evidence Technician in March of 2006. Using these skills Officer Campbell also instructed Evidence Technician collection procedures for the Evanston Police Department's Citizen Police Academy. Most recently in the spring of 2009, Officer Campbell earned his Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix.

Detective Jody Wright was hired as an Evanston Police Officer in January of 2002. Detective Wright served in patrol operations from January 2002 through January 2005. During this service, Detective Wright was certified as Field Training Officer, where he used his skills in the training of new police recruits. In January of 2005 Detective Wright was transferred to the departments Neighborhood Enforcement Team, whose mission was to target drugs and gangs in Evanston. Gaining further experience Detective Wright was re-assigned to the Evanston Police Department Detective Bureau in July of 2009, where he served until this promotion.

Detective Melissa Sacluti was hired as an Evanston Police Officer in October of 2003. Detective Sacluti served in patrol operations until January of 2006. At this time Detective Sacluti was re-assigned to the Evanston Police Departments’ Neighborhood Enforcement team, combating gangs and drugs in Evanston. In May of 2008, Detective Sacluti was re-assigned to the Detective Bureau, where she currently serves. During her time as a Evanston Police Officer, Detective Sacluti was awarded three Honorable Mentions, two Unit Citations and a Joint Operations award from the Chicago Police Department. At present Detective Sacluti is working on her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from DePaul University.
