Three Men Display Weapon in Robbery on Ridge

Three men presented a weapon and demanded their victim’s property, then stole a debit card and cash between 6:45 and 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the intersection of Church Street and Ridge Avenue, according to police.

Burglar Steals Stereo System, Tools

Someone damaged the door of a business in the 200 block of Chicago Avenue and stole a stereo system, grinder and heater between 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, and 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, according to police.

Woman Cuts Victim’s Face

A known female offender cut the face of her victim at 6:10 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, in the 1700 block of Monroe Avenue, police reported. 

Arrests: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Fleeing Police

Taylor J. Carpenter, 19, of the 1600 block of Monroe Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at 9:33 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, in the 300 block of Asbury Avenue, according to police. 

Emanuel G. Merriweather, 35, of the 600 block of Dearborn in Chicago, was arrested and charged with battery at 5:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, in the 300 block of Ridge Avenue, according to police. 

Kaniajle Turner, 22, who told police he was homeless, was arrested and charged with retail theft after he allegedly stole a premade sandwich from a grocery store in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue around 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, according to police. 

Nibra A. White, 35, of the 100 block of Asbury Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with fleeing or eluding a police officer at the police station at 11:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, according to police. 

Retail Theft: Laptops Stolen On Howard Street

A man stole a 15-inch white Samsung laptop from a chain business in the 2300 block of Howard Street at 3:51 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, according to police. 

Car Burglary Reported on Callan

Someone entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the 200 block of Callan Avenue between 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, and 8:10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, police reported. 

Copper Downspouts Stolen From Church

Someone stole a set of 30 to 40 foot copper downspouts from a church in the 1100 block of Washington Street between 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, and 7 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, according to police.

Cell Phone Stolen From Locker

Someone stole an HTC Sprint cell phone in a black otter box from a locked gym locker in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue between 8 and 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, police reported.

Jacket Stolen From Break Room

Someone stole a black Nordstrom button-up jacket from the break room of a grocery store in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue between 6 and 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, according to police.
