Three Northwestern Students Robbed at Gunpoint at Foster and Pratt

Police are searching for two suspects in an armed robbery that took place around 1:10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 19.

One day after at Foster Street and Orrington Avenue, police report that three students were the victims of another armed robbery early Sunday morning. 

The students, all female, were walking in the 2000 block of Pratt Court, near Foster Street, around 1:10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, when two men approached them, according to a press release from the . One of the men pulled out a silver handgun and demanded that they hand over their valuables, police said.

The man with the gun stole one woman's purse and her cell phone, then took the purses of her two companions. He and the other man ran away on foot, heading west on Foster Street, according to police.

Police say the suspect with the handgun was described as a black man in his late 20s who is between 5'3" and 5'6" and was wearing all black clothing.

took place at 1:55 a.m. at the intersection of Foster Street and Orrington Avenue, just six blocks east. In that incident, one man approached the victim and displayed a handgun while another stayed across the street, according to police.
