Stolen bikes

Two bicycles were reported stolen from a garage in the 1400 block of Seward Street on April 26.

Stolen purse

A woman reported her purse stolen while shopping at a store in the 2200 block of Howard Street. According to the report, the item was taking from her cart.

A woman reported her purse stolen after visiting a medical building in the 2600 block of Ridge Avenue on April 28.

Gang graffiti

Police observed gang graffiti in the 1000 block of Dodge Avenue on April 29.

Stolen cell phone

A smartphone was taken from a park bench in the 1000 block of McDaniel Avenue on April 29. The device was valued at more than $500, the report stated.

Coins stolen from auto

About $8 in loose change was reported stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue on April 29.

Attempted strong armed robbery

A man was jumped by three offenders after he took his cell phone out of his pocket in the 1800 block of Hovland Court on April 29 around 6:24 p.m. The trio was unsuccessful, the report stated. No arrests were made.

Assault

Anthony Hall, 21, of Evanston, was charged with assault on April 27. The offender was arrested in the 1700 block of Maple around 2:20 p.m., police said.

Aggravated discharge of a firearm

James Johnson, 23, of Evanston, was arrested for aggravated discharged of a firearm on April 27 around 2:40 p.m. Johnson shot several times at a vehicle carrying multiple passengers in the 1700 block of Simpson Street, police said.
