Arrests: Firearm Possession, Domestic Battery

A 24-year-old Evanston man was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 2:20 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, police reported.

Dean F. Holden, 46, of the 1200 block of Chase in Chicago, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm at 3:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, in the 800 block of Clark Street, police reported.

Attempted Car Burglary on Brummel

Someone tried to pry open the door of a 2007 Volkswagen parked in the 800 block of Brummel Street between 11 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, and 6 a.m. Wednesday, Sept 11, according to police.

Two-Carat Diamond Ring Stolen At Hospital

A woman left her two-carat princess cut diamond engagement ring and white gold wedding ring by the sink at a hospital in the 2600 block of Ridge Avenue between 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, and 12:15 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, according to police. When she returned, her rings were gone.

Bikes Stolen On Chicago, Dodge

Someone stole a 1995, 20-inch, Diamondback men’s bicycle that was locked to a storage rack in the 800 block of Chicago Avenue between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, according to police.

Backpack Stolen From Locker

Someone stole cash and a backpack that was locked in a locker in the 1600 block of Sherman Avenue between 7:28 and 9:35 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, police reported.

Someone stole a red Giant men’s mountain bicycle that was locked to a bicycle rack outside Evanston Township High School between 8 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, according to police.

Phone Stolen at School

Someone stole a Samsung cell phone in a pink case from a backpack on school grounds in the 800 block of Greenleaf Street between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, according to police.

Purse Taken at Library

Someone stole a purse from a stroller at the Evanston Public Library, 1700 Orrington Ave., between 5 and 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, police reported.

Phone Stolen From Home

A man stole an iPhone from a drawer in an apartment while company was over at 11 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, in the 1900 block of Emerson, according to police.

Thief Swipes License Plate From BMW

Someone stole the front license plate from a BMW parked in the 1600 block of Chicago Avenue between 8:10 and 9:10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, police reported.

Key Stolen From Lockbox

Someone stole an electronic key from a secured lockbox in an apartment or condo common area in the 100 block of Callan Avenue between 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, and 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, according to police.

Catalytic Converter Stolen on Oakton

A man stole a catalytic converter from a 1998 Toyota parked in an apartment lot in the 700 block of Oakton Street at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, police reported.
