Vandal Smashes Car Windshield on Dodge

The following arrests and incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department: 

Arrests: DUI, Battery, Cannabis

Zachary V. Ash, 33, of the 4500 block of Sheridan Road in Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence in the 700 block of Dewey Avenue at 12:44 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, police reported.

Michael Brendan O’Brien, 19, of the 1200 block of Noyes Street in Evanston, was arrested and charged with battery at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at Elgin Road and Sherman Avenue, according to police. 

Antonio D. Scott, 21, of the 1900 block of Asbury Avenue in Evanston, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis at 3:06 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, in the 1400 block of Dodge Avenue, police reported. 

Report of Shots Fired on Jackson

Police investigated a report that someone had fired a gun in the 1900 block of Jackson around 6:43 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, according to police. 

Break-in On Monroe

Someone broke the window and pushed in the screen of an apartment building in the 1700 block of Monroe Street between 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, and 12:37 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, police reported. Nothing was stolen.

Pontiac Grand Prix Stolen On Wesley

Someone stole a four-door, gray, 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix that was left running in the 300 block of Wesley Avenue between 4:15 and 4:40 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, according to police. The license plate is 4687094. 

Purse Stolen From Shopping Cart

Someone stole a purse and its contents from a shopping cart at a department store in the 2000 block of Howard Street between 2 and 2:30 p.m. Wednesady, Oct. 31, police reported.

Mail Stolen on Darrow

Someone stole mail from the porch of a home in the 1200 block of Darrow Avenue at 11:36 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, police reported.

Retail Theft: Soda, Cosmetics

A man stole Mountain Dew from the 7-Eleven at 847 Dodge Ave. between 11:27 and 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, police reported.

A man and a woman stole various brands of cosmetics from a chain pharmacy in the 3300 block of Central Street between 5:42 and 5:52 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, police reported.

Car Keyed, Windshield Smashed

Someone keyed a 2009 Volkswagen parked in the 2100 block of Ashland Avenue between 4:30 and 5:50 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, according to police.

Someone smashed the windshield of a 1998 Kia parked in a driveway in the 1700 block of Dodge Avenue between 10:44 and 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, police reported.
