Victim Hit in Mouth; Laptop and Jewelry Stolen

The following incidents were reported by the Evanston Police Department:

Battery Simple

An  unknown offender hit a victim in the mouth with an unknown object at 11:30 p.m., Sept. 25, on the sidewalk in the 100 block of Asbury Ave.

Residential Burglary

Someone took a 13” screen Macbook laptop computer from an unlocked apartment in the 1600 block of Ridge Ave. sometime between 10:40 p.m. Sept. 24, and 9:10 a.m., Sept. 25.

Burglary

Someone took a Canon video camera, a Haier 16.9 field video monitor accessory and a Lanc Video remote control from a business in the 600 block of Davis St. between 1:50 a.m. and 7:13 a.m., Sept. 22.

Retail Theft

Someone stole diapers from a store in the 2400 block of Howard between 3:45 p.m. and 3:53 p.m., Sept. 25.

Theft Over $500

Someone took a thin cold chain with an “N” pendant on it off the neck of someone in a store in the 2400 block of Main St. between 9:30 and 10 a.m., Sept. 25.

 

Someone took diamond earrings from an apartment in the 3200 block of Grant St. sometime between Aug. 23, and 8 a.m., Sept. 24.

 

Theft Under $500

Someone took keys, a Coach leather wallet and its contents from a briefcase in hospital recovery room in the 300 block of Ridge Ave. between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., Sept. 24.

 

Someone took a red, white and blue Schwinn bicycle that was locked to a pole at the school grounds in the 400 block of Ridge Ave.  between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., Sept. 25.

 

An unknown offender took a Cisco Wireless Router that was delivered as a package to an apartment in the 600 block of Mulford and left in the common area, on Sept. 25, some time between 1:14 p.m. and 2 p.m.

 

Criminal Damage to Property

An unknown offender cut a victim’s garden hose in a yard in the 100 block of Greeleaf St. some time between 8:40 and 9:10 a.m., Sept. 25.

 

Criminal Damage to State Support Property

Police noticed graffiti in a park in the 600 block of Brummel  at 6:38 p.m., Sept. 25.

 

Theft of Vehicle Parts/Accessories

Someone took the vehicle sticker from a 2010 Honda parked in an apartment parking lot in the 400 block of Custer Ave., between 9 p.m. Sept. 24, and 8:30 a.m., Sept. 25.

 

Arrests

Janeth Espinoza, 27, 1509 Farwell, Chicago, was charged with a traffic violation at 11:12 a.m., Sept. 24.

Ametis Louis, 74, 1728 Hovland Ct., Evanston, was charged with a traffic violation at 4:02 p.m., Sept. 24.

Veronica Roman, 39, 1929 Brown, Evanston, was charged with a traffic violation on Sept. 25.

 

Nikiah Katrina Smith, 31, 7547 N. Winchester, Chicago, was charged at 9:40 p.m., Sept. 24 with a traffic violation.
